On July 2007 we started the Project of

The Hummingbirds Video Guide

an ambicious goal to make the very first guide on video with the most fascinating hummingbirds.

The first trip took us to Ecuador, where we filmed 27 species, making up a total of 47 species from Ecuador that can be seen, together with species from Venezuela and Colombia,  at:

On May 2007 we traveled to Colombia and were pleased to be hosted by  

Dr. Luis Mazariegos

author of the fantastic book

"HUMMINGBIRDS OF COLOMBIA"

and founder of

¨The Hummingbird Conservancy¨         (http://www.thc-fc.org ).           

There, in a week, we were able to record 10 species in HD, including two new for our collection (064 and 068) and four from Colombia. These will be soon  included in a new section in he website.

When getting wildlife footage, almost ever alone or with an assistant, never had the chance to have some pictures "on location". Here now some photos   from friends and from my wife.

 

THE VIDEOGUIDE  is available for sale

We are working on a new DVD project that will be delivered in four DVDs. Over 300 venezuelan birds shots listed by order plus the associated pictures and a video with the shots one after the other. Birds are identified by its english and spanish names. Also there is  list     with english, spanish and latin names, classified by order and by familiy. First we decided to put together the most comprehensive collection on DVD about Venezuela, both on Wildlife and Ecotravel

     

then recently we opened a new series based on 50 minutes documentaries on DVD.

GALÁPAGOS

On November 2003 we got the chance to go to Galápagos to do the footage of a video for an Ecuadorian Company, thanks to Dominic Hamilton (www.nomadom.net), an english journalist living in Ecuador who produced the video and invited me to do the shooting. Whatever you´ve read, saw in documentaries or other media about the Galápagos is small in front of the magnificence of this unique place in the world. You got to be there to believe it.
